I don’t paint. I don’t know how to paint at all. I’ve never held a brush or drawn anything. By chance I saw here on WordPress the doodlewash.com community all dedicated to watercolor, and I decided why not I try something myself. I took inspiration from a beautifully illustrated book “Treasury of flower designs” by Susan Gerber. It’s a lovely book with versatile flower drawings.

I choose gladiola from the book, a faber castell 12 pot watercolor box and jumped right into it. I had seen a few videos where the watercolor painting was outlined in the end. The result came surprisingly well as an e-card.

I’m glad I did try something new in this lockdown. Painting is a creative outlet and it provides a cathartic effect to a person. I send the get well soon e-card to everyone around the world coping with illness. Get well soon everybody. Better days will come. Flowers will bloom again. Pain will be forgotten.
